Tips And Tricks To Get Rid Of Ingrown Hair

If there’s one downside to shaving your hands and legs, it has to be the materialization of ingrown hair all over your body.

Okay girl, we get it! You’re getting late to head out and it’s a dressy outing so you decide to wear a sleeveless dress. You haven’t had the time to get your otherwise smooth limbs waxed, so you go in for the quick fix! The razor! Now don’t get us wrong, a razor and some soap works just fine when you’re in a hurry and don’t have the time to go to the parlour and get smothered in sticky wax, but what you don’t realize is that this quick fix is going to cost you the smoothness of your skin later.

Ingrown hair sucks and there’s no hiding from it, so why not just get rid of it then? Here are a few ways in which you can either completely avoid having an ingrowth of hair or get rid of it if you already have some.

1.Let it grow… let it grooww

5.Warm compress

It might sound a little strange, but the reason ingrowth occurs is that when tiny hair is shaved off the leg and new hair grows in its place, it just curls under the skin and doesn’t sprout. So, let your hair grow to a considerable length before you remove it.

2.Exfoliate

5.Warm compress

In order to get rid of stubborn ingrown hair, simply use a scrub to exfoliate that part of your body. This will help you get rid of dead skin and allow the hair curled up under your skin to finally come out. Keep in mind not to overdo it though because that’ll do more harm than good and needlessly make your skin extra sensitive.

3.Scrub it off!

5.Warm compress

There are many DIY scrubs that you will come across, trying to get rid of ingrown hair, but the easiest and the most effective of them all is the coffee scrub. All you’ll need for this scrub is 2 tbsp ground coffee, ¼ cup plain yogurt, 1 tbsp coconut oil, and the juice of half a lemon. Mix all the ingredients well together, rub it on to your skin, rinse it with warm water and have smooth and supple skin as a result.

4.Aloe Vera

5.Warm compress

This plant is not just good for your hair and your face, but it works wonders against ingrown hair as well. Apply aloe pulp or aloe vera gel on your skin, leave it on for 20-30 minutes and then, wash it off with cold water. This will lessen the irritation and heal the scabs on your skin caused by razors while removing hair and treat your ingrowth as well.

5.Warm compress

5.Warm compress

A sure shot way of getting rid of ingrown hair is by practicing this method called ‘Warm Press’. You have to dip a cloth in warm water and apply it on the part of your body which has ingrowths. It the cloth gets cold, dip it in warm water again and repeat the process a couple of times. This method sees to it that the ingrown hair sprouts out and doesn’t remain under your skin.
