Just like the rest of your body, your scalp too requires an exfoliating and deep cleansing session every once in a while to get rid of all the unwanted layers. The route to healthy hair growth is through a healthy and clean scalp. Dirt, oil and product build-up can clog pores and hair follicles and damage your tresses. Did you know using a few ingredients from your kitchen shelf can give you the hair of your dreams? Here are 3 DIY sugar scrubs that will ensure a healthy scalp.
Olive oil + brown sugar

- 3 teaspoons of olive oil
- 3 teaspoons of brown sugar
Combine the two ingredients well in plastic bowl. Massage this mixture into your scalp in circular motions using your fingertips. Leave it on for some time and then rinse, cleanse and condition as usual.
While brown sugar removes flaky and dead skin cells, olive oil retains the moisture and protects against damage.
Oatmeal + brown sugar

- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons of finely ground oatmeal
- 2 tablespoons of hair conditioner
Wash hair with shampoo to remove oil and styling product residue from hair. Now scoop a small amount of scrub in your palm and massage your scalp using your fingertips. Scrub for 3-4 minutes and then wash off.
Brown sugar and oatmeal both work well to gently exfoliate the scalp and increase circulation to promote healthy hair growth.
Milk + brown sugar

- 2 tablespoons of raw milk
- 4 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Pour and mix all the ingredients in a plastic bowl to form a paste. Massage gently in circular motions on your scalp using fingertips. Leave it on for few minutes before washing off with lukewarm water.
