Attention Manicure buffs! Here’s all you need to know about nail buffing at home

While chic and colourful manicures make an instant style statement; managing your nails is not as easy as a stroke of polish. All those of you, who are manicure buffs will know that the struggle to keep your nails healthy, shiny and in proper shape all the time, is real!

Polishes can have an adverse effect on the health of your nails. Precisely why, you need to let your nails breathe in between manicures. That’s when nail buffing comes into picture! Nail buffing is nothing but a way of keeping your nails in great shape. All you need to do is use a buffer board or a nail buffer that is made of fine grit to polish and rub your nails. Doing so will leave your nails looking more consistent and shiny.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to buff your nails at home...

Attention Manicure buffs

Step 1:

Use the Lakmé Nail Colour Remover with Vitamin E to remove any traces of nail paint. Enriched with vitamins, this nail polish remover promises to prevent excessive dryness around nails and at the same time strengthens them.

Step 2:

Not everyone is a fan of long nails. Therefore, before buffing, make sure that you trim your nails to a desired length.

Step 3:

Round, square or stiletto—give your nails the shape you’re comfortable with and one that you’d love to flaunt.

Step 4:

Choose a nail buffer that has different textures on the sides. With the rougher side of the buffer, buff your nails gently, moving the buffer from side to side.

Step 5:

Once you’ve removed the roughness from your nails, take a soft cotton cloth to wipe off the extracts.

Step 6:

Next, buff your nails in similar manner once again, this time using the texture that’s a little less rough.

Step 7:

Lastly, take the smoothest part of the buffer and buff your nails until they look clean and shiny.

If you love wearing polish, then it’s ideal to buff your nails atleast once a month. This way, you won’t have to deal with dull-looking nails.
