Bored of that gel nail paint and want it off your nails? To start the removal process, file your nails. There are at least four layers on your nail, which is why you need to buff down the top coat with the help of a nail file.

You’ll need nail polish remover, cotton balls and tin foil for this process. Soak the cotton balls in your regular nail polish remover, place the cotton on your nails and wrap it in tin foil. To expedite the soaking process, wrap a hot towel around your fingers.

Wait for up to 15 minutes or until the gels are lifting off completely. Keep in mind to never rush into removing because doing so will damage your nails in the process.

After your nails are soaked in acetone, they will automatically peel off on their own. For spots that are sticking a little longer, gently use a cuticle pusher to get rest of the color off. Follow it up with a swipe of acetone, cuticle oil and buffing and you’ll be all set to start a new manicure!
