The low-down on 3D lash extensions you don’t want to miss!

Having natural eyelashes that aren’t exactly long and fluttery can be quite a bummer! Sure, there are fake lashes, but they aren’t exactly viable for every day wear. Leaves you with no option but to coat your barely-there lashes with several coats of mascara in the hope that they look longer and fuller, right? Well, not anymore. Say hello to 3D lash extensions, girls!

Also known as volume lashes, this type of eyelash extension is winning a lot of hearts in the international beauty circuit. Wondering what’s so great about them?

Here’s a detailed guide on everything that you need to know about 3D lash extensions to help you decide if they are really worth the hype…

What exactly are 3D lash extensions?

Basically, 3D lashes are semi-permanent eyelash extensions that are perfect for girls with sparse, fine eyelashes. Just like your normal lash extensions, these lashes are stuck in such a way that they look absolutely natural, so you can totally fake thicker, voluminous lashes!

So how are they different?

When you get the normal lash extensions, the stylist places only one fake eyelash per natural eyelash. This technique could be a little redundant, because it restricts the stylist to the number of natural lashes the client has.

But this is where 3D lashes are different. These lash extensions are made from fine hair that are bunched up and made into fans to be later attached to your natural lash line. This is what gives your eyelashes a fuller and more voluminous appearance. While normal lash extensions only deliver length, 3D lash extensions deliver length, volume as well as thickness.

Once you have gotten these 3D eyelash extensions, they last for about 30 to 45 days provided you care for them and treat them right.

  1. Do not wet your lashes

Do not get your eye lashes wet for at least 48 hours after the initial application, as this is how long it takes for the lashes to settle down completely. To clean your face, we recommend you to use a wash cloth instead of splashing your entire face with water.

  1. Avoid using eye products with oil

If you use eye creams or any other products with a high oil content, then it is advisable to avoid using them at least for the initial few days. This is because it could break down the lash glue and decrease the longevity of the extensions.

  1. Avoid rubbing your eyes

We tend to unknowingly rub our eye area, especially when washing our face. But if you have gotten 3D eyelash extensions, it is highly advisable that you refrain from doing this. Brush them gently if you feel the need to and always use an extension-friendly cleanser.

  1. Switch to a silk pillowcase

If the health of your hair and skin haven’t made you switch to a silk pillowcase, then we hope the longevity of your fresh eyelash extensions prompts you to do this. A cotton pillowcase will end up causing a lot of wear and tear, especially if you have the habit of sleeping on your stomach or on your side. Avoid this unnecessary friction by simple replacing your cotton pillowcase with a silk one.
