World Water Day: Beauty tips to minimise water wastage

Let’s all take a minute to think about how we end up wasting at least a litre of water each morning by keeping the tap running the entire time we brush our teeth. Now, multiply that number with the population of the country and you will realise the staggering amount of water that is wasted each day.

With climate change and droughts becoming everyday news, it is really important that we start taking this issue seriously. And what better way to start than by making changes to your beauty routine. On World Water Day today, let’s all resolve to make water conservation an integral part of our beauty routine.

For those of you who are confused about how to do this, here are some simple tips and tricks that will help you get started…

Limit the number of times you wash your hair

Switch to oil-based products

Simply reducing the number of times you wash your hair in a week will help to tremendously save unnecessary water wastage. Not only is washing your hair less frequently beneficial, but also helps reduce water consumption. We suggest washing your hair about 2-3 times a week. And for the days when your hair feels greasy and limp, you can always spruce it up with dry shampoo.

Turn the tap off

Switch to oil-based products

Yeah, you definitely need to turn the tap off while brushing, but just doing that much is not enough. Even while you’re lathering the soap, scrubbing your face and body or doing anything else standing next to the basin or in the shower, keep the tap off. Turn it on only when it’s time to rinse.

Switch to micellar water

Switch to oil-based products

A great way to reduce unnecessary water consumption in your beauty routine is to switch to using a micellar water in place of your usual face wash. You can switch to the Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Water. The no-rinse formula of this gentle yet effective cleanser makes it an amazing product to use while cleaning your face every morning.

Switch to oil-based products

Another way to reduce water consumption is to switch to oil-based products. Water-based products not only take longer to show results, but they also end up consuming a lot of water. While oils, on the other hand, are always made using no water and also help nourish and condition your skin a lot better.
