5 drinks that will leave you bloated
Abdominal bloating is common and is definitely something we all dislike. It can make you feel nauseated, uncomfortable. Apart from an unhealthy diet, the reason behind this bloating can be some extremely common drinks that are a part if your everyday lifestyle. Scroll down for a list…

Milk

Alcohol

Yes, milk is healthy and all that, but for some people, it can cause serious bloating. Milk is nutritious, but, those nutritional qualities don’t work the same on everyone as everyone’s digestive system is different. Some people are lactose intolerant and hence tend to bloat after consuming milk. Lactose (sugar in the milk) pulls water into your gut and that causes this bloating.

Soda

Alcohol

Or rather, all that Coke, Pepsi or other carbonated drinks you love. Apart from their extremely high sugar content, the fizzy bubbles present in it are the actual reason behind all that inflation you’re feeling. This is because the bubbles cause air buildup inside your stomach. Next time you need a thirst quencher, you’d rather pick water.

Savoury drinks

Alcohol

Savoury cocktails like Bloody Mary, martinis etc. contain a high amount of salt content. This excess salt causes water retention which then leads to bloating.

Coffee

Alcohol

Bad news for all you coffee lovers! Coffee causes gastritis which is an inflammation in the stomach which causes bloating. This can usually happen to people who are caffeine sensitive. If you experience stomach pain after drinking coffee, you might want to make a shift to something that’s not as acidic as coffee.

Alcohol

Alcohol

Just like coffee, alcohol causes gastritis which can cause bloating. Alcohol also causes serious dehydration and hence causes you to gain water weight as a way to cope with it. This water weight can cause you to look bloated. You can avoid this by making sure you stay hydrated while consuming alcohol.
