WHAT TO KEEP IN MIND BEFORE APPLYING LIQUID LIPSTICK
Liquid lipsticks are the heroes of the lipstick world. They’re matte, long-lasting and make our lips look so sexy! But the downside of it all is that they’re also super drying on the lips. However, with a little prep and care you can easily save your lips from drying and creasing. Want to know what these liquid lipstick tips are? Read on…

Prepping is everything

Invest in a good makeup remover

If you’ve used a liquid lipstick, you’d know that mostly all of them are matte in finish and can be severely drying on the lips. But this hardly means we don’t love them. A little prep before applying liquid lipsticks is all you need to keep your lips looking kissable. While you apply your base makeup and finish the eyes, apply Vaseline Petroleum Jelly on your lips and let it sink in while you finish your makeup.

Don’t rub your lips

Invest in a good makeup remover

You might rub your lips together after having applied other creamy lipsticks but when it comes to liquid lipsticks, this practice is a big no-no. Liquid lipsticks are like painting your lips and if you rub your lips together, it will only cause further drying and in fact, create a patchy application. Just apply it on your lower lip first, then on your upper lip and wait for it to dry.

Less is more

Invest in a good makeup remover

Excess liquid lipstick might end up looking overpowering on your lips. Our suggestion would be to pick less liquid lipstick on the applicator and then see if you need more on your lips. Keep in mind that liquid lipstick spreads very easily and you might need a wee bit only.

Don’t layer or double coat

Invest in a good makeup remover

The idea behind applying liquid lipsticks is that they dry completely matte. So if you layer your creamy lipstick and keep reapplying, know that with liquid lipsticks you can’t do that. The layering needs to happen before you apply this one. So Vaseline or any lip primer can be applied only before you actually apply your liquid lipstick.

Since liquid lipsticks are drying, they’re also slightly difficult to take off as they last for longer hours. So before you think of applying lipstick, you also keep a good makeup remover in your vanity as liquid lipstick might take a little effort to break.
