5 Bollywood Movies Shot In The Most Exotic Locations
When Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara covered locations across Spain, other filmmakers decided to roll up their sleeves to go scouting for even more exotic locations to shoot their movies in. Whether these were picked for the entire movie or served only as a picturesque backdrop for a song, each place was a feast for the eyes. Have a look…

Tamasha | Corsica, France

Dil Dhadakne Do | Istanbul, Turkey

Little was known about the tiny island in the south of France—Corsica—but watching ‘Don’ and ‘Mona Darling’ up to their antics up the cliffs and by the waters made us put this island on our bucket lists!

Dilwale | South Iceland

Dil Dhadakne Do | Istanbul, Turkey

Although the first half of the movie had glimpses from the streets of Romania and Bulgaria, it was the romantic hit—Gerua—that had us searching the web for the beach with the remnants of a broken plane on it. Turns out it was the Sólheimasandur Beach in the south of Iceland.

Bang Bang | Santorini, Greece

Dil Dhadakne Do | Istanbul, Turkey

No surprise here! This is a rather frequented and favoured location amongst Bollywood celebs—and why wouldn’t it be—the bright whites against the contrasting blue waters of Santorini make for some of the most effortless backdrops, like in the song ‘Meherbaan’.

Ek Villain | Vaadhoo Island, Maldives

Dil Dhadakne Do | Istanbul, Turkey

The song ‘Galliyan’ of Ek Villain was probably the first time we ever saw bioluminescence in its full glory. Could have been the cam effects, but it won us over nonetheless—making Maldives our most sought after beach destination.

Dil Dhadakne Do | Istanbul, Turkey

Dil Dhadakne Do | Istanbul, Turkey

With multiple scenes shot in the most diverse countries—from Tunisia to Italy to Turkey—Dil Dhadakne Do probably covered the most number of exotic locations ever. What we loved most were the carefree ventures of Ranveer and Anushka, cycling down and copping a spot to a sprawling view of the infamous Hagia Sophia.
