The verdict is out: Gen Z is bringing green back

While getting ready for the day, green isn’t usually a colour we pick for our looks. Most of us tend to stick with neutrals and play safe. Not Gen Z, though! First, it was the ‘middle part vs side part’ debate, and now, they’re painting the town green. They’ve taken shades of green and incorporated these hues in almost every single look. All over social media, we’ve been seeing green eyeshadow, hair, nail; the list is endless. Michelle Visage might not be on-board with everything green, but we sure are.

Here’s how you can experiment with green to be one of the cool kids in 2022.

Eyeshadow is the easiest way to experiment with green makeup. Once you start playing with the shades, you will realise they really are versatile. You can achieve a wide range of looks with different hues of green. You can swipe on a green eyeshadow all over the lids with mascara on the lashes for a soft and wearable look.

Emerald green and olive green are great picks for a smokey green eye. You can also use a light green shade in the inner corner of your eyes for that pop of colour. The possibilities are limitless; go gaga!

If green eyeshadow is too adventurous for your liking, try green eyeliner. You can create a dainty flick or make a simple line across the lash line. A green eyeliner will elevate your look in seconds. You can also use a creamy green kohl pencil and run it across your bottom lash line - subtle yet trendy.

Green nails have infinite options. You can channel your inner enchantress with a moss or basil green, get flirty with shimmery, light greens or opt for coloured tips with any green of your choice. If you’re skilled and artsy, how about drawing on a little avocado on your nails? You can also try an accent green nail with complementary colours to give this trend a shot. We can’t deny everything about the green trend is super cute.

Colouring your hair green will forever be one of the most daring styles. But just like all the styles on our list, this too can be pulled off quite easily. Start by finding your comfort zone.

You can begin with shades and hairstyles that you’d feel most confident in. Hidden hues have been around for ages, and this could be the one for the shy ones. Take one tiny strand of hair from the under-section or bottom section of your hair. Ask your hair dressed to colour it green. The green streak would be on display when you tie your hair up and add extra oomph to your ponytail! Dip-dyed green tips is another amazing look to try out. If you’re one of the bold ones, you can go the Billie Eilish way with green roots or green bangs.
