5 things you should never do on Tinder
You've been on Tinder for a while now with the excuse of ‘just trying the app out’ but your match count hasn’t exactly been one to brag about—which is actually one of the first things that people bring up. So what’s going on there? What is it that you’re not doing right? Let’s find out.

Choosing bad conversation starters

If corny conversation starters are your weapon to being unique, someone's ought to burst that bubble of yours. Calling yourself a pug in your past life or other random otherworldly comparisons aren't going to get you too far on Tinder—of course, with the exception of matching with someone equally weird. Then you two can be happy together!

Copy pasting <a href="/lifestyle/work-and-life/corniest-pick-up-lines">pick up lines</a>

So what if it didn't work on the first one, there’s still plenty other fish in the sea—so let's just copy paste that line on fifty others, right? Wrong! For starters, they’re not dumb. They're probably a bunch of friends, sharing deets on their swipe rights, so you're only making a fool of yourself there. Secondly, even Siri has more pre-fed responses than your copy pasted lines, so give it a rest!

Having bad profile pictures

Know how they say don't judge a book by it's cover? Well, it kinda doesn't apply to Tinder. So whatever cool pictures you have of wearing sunnies in high school and that tie swagger—delete them. Also delete any fetish pictures, pictures with celebrities and yes, your groupies with friends too because it's easier to swipe left than to play spot the guy.

Creeping people out

Yeah, we get it, you're looking for company, just like everyone else there, but keep it subtle, would ya? Describing how you're looking for 5’3 girls with short hair and scars and wrist tattoos not only makes you a Mr. Grey nightmare but also limits your matches monumentally. Like, what are you thinking man? Being picky is one thing, but that’s just creepy.

Read their bio, swipe through their images and check their LinkedIn, Instagram accounts to watch out for any red flags. Yes, this would be stalking but that's what the Internet’s for anyway—stalking and snooping. Besides, you'll be glad to have found out his ideal first date was in his bedroom before you actually went on one. Just saying!
