How to make DIY eyebrow gel

If you believe in a strong, structured, power-brow, you know the importance of brow gel. It’s the finishing product that holds all the effort you put into your brow routine together - the filling, drawing, brushing etc. So, there’s no way you should skip setting your brows with a brow gel.

If you haven’t invested in a good brow gel yet, or have run out of the one you already have, you can make it at home too! Scroll down to read more about this DIY...

If you have extremely light brows, a tinted brow gel is your best bet as it adds colour to your brows in the most natural way.

What you need

Hair gel, an air-tight container, a spoolie, brown eyeshadow

Method

In a mixing bowl, add about 2 spoons of hair gel. Mix it till it gets a little runny. Then, use the back of a spoon to scrape the eyeshadow pigment into the hair gel. Make sure you’re using a shade that’s about 2 shades lighter than your brow product shade. This will add just the right tint to the gel without making it too dark—you don’t want to top your already filled brow with a darker brow gel and end up looking like you drew it with a sketch pen, do you? We recommend going for the warm, light brown shade from the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in French Rose. Mix this until the eyeshadow powder is nicely blended in with the hair gel.

To use, swirl your spoolie through the mixture and brush your brows upwards. You can also use this on days when you feel like skipping filling in your brow with colour.

This brow gel has two benefits—setting your brows and stimulating the hair growth.

What you need

Unflavoured gelatin, warm water, rosemary essential oil, spoolie, an old mascara tube/jar

Method

In a mixing bowl, add 1tbsp. gelatin powder and add half a cup of warm water to it. Mix thoroughly. If the consistency is too liquid-y, add another pinch of gelatin powder and mix till you reach the desired consistency. Pour this mixture into a mascara tube or a jar. Next, add 2-3 drops of rosemary essential oil (to stimulate hair growth) to it and shake well. Let this mixture sit for a few hours. The brow gel mixture will eventually thicken and will be ready to use!
