Before diving into the remedies, let’s first understand what causes acne on the arms. There are many reasons for arm pimples — hormonal imbalance, lack of hygiene, improper skin care routine, usage of comedogenic skincare products, tight clothing and even sweat trapped in your clothes can cause acne on the arms. Once your pores are clogged with dirt and impurities, it leads to bacteria growth, resulting in acne.

Here are a few ways that can help you get rid of acne on your arms and also keep it from occurring again.

01. OTC medication with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide: These two ingredients are the best over the counter medication available to treat acne and it works for your arm pimples too! So, get your hands on acne-preventing creams or lotion with these ingredients.

02. Keep your arms clean: An obvious solution is to maintain your hygiene and take a bath regularly to keep your arms clean. You can even try using an exfoliating mitt or scrub at least once or twice a week. Just make sure you don’t overwash or use harsh exfoliants that can cause this area to become dry and irritated.

03. Stay away from the sun as much as possible: If you tend to get acne on your arms easily, it is best to avoid sun exposure as much as you can. This is because the harmful sun rays can cause oil production in this area that can clog the pores and cause more acne.

04. Wear breathable clothing: The idea is to avoid tight clothing as much as possible as it can trap sweat and cause your pores to get clogged up. So, wear breathable fabrics that let your sweat properly.

If the problem persists, we recommend visiting a dermatologist to get to the root of the issue.
